Spirit Guides can communicate with us in innumerable ways.  Sometimes we can overlook their insights, thinking they should be loud and obvious or accompanied by harps or trumpets.  Most of the time their messages are subtle and require our in-the-present awareness in order to receive them.  The following is a list of different ways I have communicated with my guides.  It is not meant as an extensive list, but just as a key to the many doorways you can open to allow them to communicate with you.  Hopefully by reading this, you become more aware and open to the many different ways your guides can communicate with you, too.

Automatic typing/writing – begin by asking a question, and type or write everything that pops into your head.  It doesn’t matter what it is, just keep writing.  This helps overcome conscious mind interference (the part that says communicating with Spirit Guides is impossible).  Eventually, you will be able to channel longer and more meaningful messages from them.

Painting/Art - Choose the art medium of your choice, and just create without thinking or analyzing.  Let your creative self have free reign.  When we are open to this part of ourselves, we are connecting with our subconscious mind, which is also the part of the mind that receives intuitive insights.

Other People – Spirit Guides can communicate messages to you through other people.  This is when being present and fully in-the-moment pays off.  Sometimes I’ll have a question in my mind and because I’ve been agonizing over it, my guides can’t get though.  Then, I’ll be talking to someone, and all of a sudden they start saying something that is the perfect answer to my question, and as I look at them, I see my guides in my mind’s eye talking through them.  When you’re having a conversation with someone, be fully present and listen to what they say.

Your Favorite Hobby – Do you have a favorite hobby that requires your focused concentration?  If so, it is also an active meditation, and a wonderful opportunity to receive insights and messages from your guides.  Any activity that requires focused attention, even doing dishes, is a great opportunity for you to receive a message.

Roll Playing - We are getting messages from our guides all the time, even if we are not consciously aware of them.  One way to ask a question and get a quick answer is to roll play.  Have a conversation with yourself.  State your question or concern out loud.  Then, playing the roll of your Spirit Guides, answer yourself out loud.  Remember that Spirit Guides are incredibly loving and nonjudgemental.  Their communications will make you feel supreme love and appreciation for yourself.

Books - Have you ever flipped open a book and found the exact answer you were looking for?  This is another case of working through other people and things.  There are no coincidences, so when you ask for an answer and receive it, pay attention.

Driving – If you’re ever lost while driving, ask your guides to help you find your way and then pay attention to your intuitive nudges of where to go.

Cooking – I have a guide that lets me know when food in the oven is ready to be taken out.  He also helps me cook different dishes and get inspired when I’m feeling bored of the same ol’ dishes.  Of course, sometimes I am beyond his help, like when I attempted to make vegan brownies without a recipe.   He probably thought, “Oh well.  You win some, you lose some.”

Feelings - Sometimes I feel waves of peace and love flowing through my body.  When I’m meditating and very relaxed, these feelings can become very intense and bring me to tears.  Other times, they can send me feelings of peace when I’m receiving news that otherwise would have worried me to let me know that everything is okay.

In every activity, in every moment, and in every day, your Spirit Guides can communicate with you and help you.

What do you do when you want insight?

I was just about to fall asleep tonight when I was led to write an article about Learning Your Spirit Guide’s Name.  During that channeling, I received this message, which I feel is the true purpose for me waking up.  I don’t know who this message is for, but I know someone will stumble upon it and find it useful.

Some of these names refer to our energy characteristics, much like you would name a child and look up the meaning to make sure it is characteristic of qualities you feel your new child will have. In actuality, you do not choose the name, but the child coming into being leads you to the name the spirit wishes to be called.  Names shape the character and mission of the soul.  There is so much about children and birthing and creating a life that is overlooked and not understood on your plane.  It is a tremendous transition for the energy involved and must be treated with care, gentleness, and appreciation of the process.

When an energy comes into the Earth plane, it comes at the perfect time.  I am now speaking to all the parents who are wanting a child and discouraged because the child’s energy is not coming through when you want it to.  We are sorry that this causes you much distress.  So much goes on on the energy side of things that is more than we can explain in this message.  However, let us reassure you that it is not due to a failure on the part of the parent.  Whatever the doctors say is the reason, it is only a physical manifestion of a situation in which the energy is not ready to come.  Please do not take this upon yourselves as a personal failure.  We see many loving beings, loving parents doing this, and we only wish you to feel love and joy.  Know that the child will come in the perfect time.

Why are you refering to them as parents if they don’t have a child?

Parents in spirit.  When two people decide they are ready to bring a child into the world, they are parents in spirit.  They have entered into an agreement with energy to bring forth another being into the Earth plane.  Before it physically manifests as a child, they are already parents in energy terms.  It is just like the energy blueprints you referred to.  The blueprint for parent is already there, so it is already so in energy terms.  However, timing is crucial.  That’s why astrology and other arts around birthdates are so studied and accurate.  The time the energy comes into the earth plane says a lot about that energy’s mission and vision while on the earth plane.  There is more to this than we can go into in this message.  However, let us end that section with saying again that the parents are not at fault.  Just know that there is a big decision by the energy you will bring into the world, and release the aspect of timing, because that is not up to you to determine.

I’m working on a book, called Your Magical Journey: A Metaphysical Handbook for Life, and I came across a message from my Spirit Guides that I was led to share with you today.  In this part of the book, I’m talking about Divine Timing, and I asked my guides, “What would you like to tell me about Divine Timing?”

Dear, we have told you many times, Diving Timing is all there is.  Things happen when they’re meant to happen, and you wouldn’t want them any other way, not really.  You see that all in the universe is working together, like a large machine with many gears and wheels.  If one wheel stops or hesitates, the whole machine is thrown off.  Of course, if we followed your timing, the wheel would go hyper fast.  But that would not be what’s best for the machine.  You know that we cannot tell you what to do, but we can tell you this.  Amazing things are coming your way.  No matter what you decide, incredible changes are being made in the framework of your life that you have started and that you will enjoy.  Treasure these changing times, because it is a sign of progress.

Everything happens in Divine timing, even you, precious one.  When things seem to not be happening, just know that there are things that can not be seen on your plane.  What you see is only a fraction of what IS.  Set your sights and work toward it, one step at a time.  You may wander back and forth, but you always know the next step.  Listen to your inner voice and you always know the next step.

Hello Friends!

I just mailed this month’s newsletter.  I’m especially thrilled with this one because it only took 30 minutes, instead of 3 hours!!!  Why?  Well, I didn’t spend forever adding links to every article I’ve written this month, along with coordinating pictures.  In it, I announce a big website update – much more journal style articles like a blog on the homepage.  This will happen as soon as my tech support (Mark) gets a moment free from creating our newest (and so exciting) website, NoNewPlastic.com.  We’ve decided to not buy any new plastic for an entire year.  In the meantime, we’re learning about plastic, going on discovery trips and interviewing experts, and changing how we live.  We’ve made some cool changes already.

I knew something big was happening last week because I felt angels all around me.  I usually don’t feel angels.  If you’ve been reading articles on the blog, I often refer to my Spirit Guides, but not angels.  I literally felt loving beings of light behind and beside me.  Have you ever been sitting or standing so close to someone that you were almost touching, but not quite?  You know how you can feel them at the tips of the hair on your arms?  That’s what I felt for several days.  I feel that when I’m meditating sometimes, but usually not constantly for several days.  It was really incredible.  I also had a “random” conversation with a man in a store who I felt was delivering a message from an angel to me.  Have you ever had that happen?  There have been so many times when someone has spoken to me and told me exactly what I need to know right then, and I can feel as they are talking that they are relaying a message from my Spirit Guides.  Based on all these signs, I knew something big was coming.  We had some news during those days that could be worrisome in normal circumstances, but I knew that everything was working out perfectly.  Even as my logical mind was freaking out, my Spirit was calm.  One of the insights we got after those few days was to launch NoNewPlastic.com.  Everything came together very smoothly and without brainstorming.  The ideas floated into our minds.  One thing led to another, and four days later we had a website, several articles, and a dedication to a year with no plastic.

To some, it may not seem logical that this website (MyMagicalJourney.com) could focus on psychic abilities, meditation, manifesting a great life, and an eco-friendly lifestyle.  For me, they are all tied together.  I believe everything is one energy.  If we are tapped into our own energy and the energy of the spiritual realm, we are also tapped into the energy of the earth.  The past several years, as I have become even more in touch with my energy and the energy around me, I’ve felt a deep connection to other life forms and the environment.  I feel that the earth is a living energy, and when it’s not treated well, I feel just as if I am not being treated well or someone I love is not being treated well.  When I do things that I know are bad for the environment, I feel like I’m treating myself badly.  To me, putting trash in a landfill, for example, is just like putting a layer of trash under my own skin.  I’m a living energy, and so is the earth.  Plastics have bugged me and confused me for a while now.  I know a lot about them, but there is so much contrary information circulating, which I believe is sometimes intended to keep us in our same old routine of using plastic for everything.  Plastic has many positive uses, but it also lasts forever.  I believe we should treat it like a product that lasts forever, and use it wisely or not at all.  That’s why I’m so excited about doing this project.  I hope you pay a visit to our new blog, and I look forward to hearing your ideas and the ways you are living more eco-friendly as well!

Have you ever asked yourself or the Universe, “How can I make more money?” I asked my Spirit Guides this question several years ago, and they gave me a new question that was actually more helpful than the first. They suggested I ask instead, “How may I serve?” Another way to phrase this would be, “How can I add value?” This is a very powerful question. This question has a different energy and a different focus. By asking this question, you start to think about your natural abilities and what beautiful gifts you have to offer the world. Sharing your gifts with the world will bring you joy. Sharing who you really are with the world and bringing value to people’s lives will bring you wealth in all its many wonderful forms, including money.

This is a message from my Spirit Guides:

You are all beautiful, Divine Beings.  The world works better because you are in it.  You are part of the Divine Loving Power that is in all things.  Many of you do not realize your greatness.  In our eyes, you are all beautiful, Divine Creatures.  We are willing to help you see this truth about yourself, but the simplest way to start feeling this is to start telling yourself these kind words of love.

You are Divine beauty and potential.  Each life is full of greatness and beauty. When you love yourself more, your life will be brighter and filled with joy.  You cannot see the joy of the world unless you let it in.  You cannot let it in if you are telling yourself you’re not good enough.  Those two thoughts: joy and abuse, do not coincide together.  You cannot have both.  Stop abusing yourself and you will have all the joy you need.

Have you ever felt confused?  Maybe you don’t know which job to take, where to move to, or how to act in a certain situation?  Confusion is a message from our Spirit, letting us know that we’re disconnected.  We have access to all the answers, knowledge, and wisdom when we look within.  Sometimes we just don’t take the time to quiet our minds and listen.  Other times, we just don’t want to listen.  Next time you’re feeling confused, take a moment to get quiet and center yourself.  Then, ask yourself the questions you have and listen for the answer.  Pay attention to how your body feels.  Do you feel good when you think about one option, and not good when you think about the other option?  The message of your Spirit is always to do what brings you joy.

How do you know you’re hearing the message of your Spirit?

• Is it kind?  If it sounds judgemental or annoying, that’s not your Spirit.  Your Spirit is always loving and feels good to hear.
• Is it helping you to follow your bliss?  Your Spirit wants you to feel joy and be happy.
• Is it loving?  Does the message feel loving to you?  When you hear the voice of your Spirit and follow it, you will feel joyful, relieved, and very loved.  You will feel like there’s a loving hand helping you along your magical journey of life.

When we listen to our Spirit, we always know the next step.  When we follow the loving voice of our Spirit, our lives feel joyful and worth living.
