As I was thinking of crafty articles I could put on my website, the first one I thought of was to make a drawstring bag for various divination tools.  I have a tarot deck that could really use a bag, and I thought it would be so much fun to make one myself.  I imagined the step-by-step photos and goofy commentary I would make.  However, while I was searching the web to find out how to actually make the bags (ha!  I had no clue), I found a great website called Happy Things with detailed instructions and photos of several different types of drawstring bags, including a backpack version.  The simplest version (unlined) is at the bottom of her post.

Whether you buy your bag or make it, here are some ideas for making your bag extra unique and special:

• Attach extra decorations to the bag like colorful buttons, beads, sequins, an iron-on, appliqué, decorative stitching, ribbon, or rhinestones.
• Add pizazz to the cord by adding charms or beads.
• Choose a fabric that appeals to your whimsical, imaginative side.  This will stimulate the part of the brain that we use to connect with our intuition.
• If making your own bag, sew it with a colorful lining fabric.

These bags can be used to store your tarot cards, runes, and whatever else you can think of.  Please post pics once you’ve created your bag!
